On 7 and 8 February 2019, two experts from OGYÉI, the Hungarian competent authority for the European Medicines Agency (EMA), came to give practice-oriented training to the Centre’s in-house translators. With almost 43 000 pages translated in 2018, EMA is the Centre’s third client in terms of translation volume.

2018 was a notable year for the Centre in terms of volume of documents (over 369 000 pages), technological advances and strategic development.

On 31 January 2019, the Translation Centre received a visit from around 20 students enrolled on the Franco-German law course at the University of Nanterre. The students took the opportunity of learning about the Centre and its services and operation during a study visit to Luxembourg.

The Centre offers linguistic traineeships for university graduates or students from the Member States of the EU who wish to acquire an understanding of the Centre´s work and gain professional experience.

The Centre is organizing a selection procedure for six trainee positions in 2019.

The Translation Centre welcomes back Benoît Vitale, its long-standing Head of IT, as acting Director from 1 January 2019. Mr Vitale will replace Ms Máire Killoran, who ran the Centre for the last three years.
