As this year comes to an end, we would like to extend season’s greetings to all of you.

Every day French radio station France Bleu Lorraine plays its listeners different snippets found on the internet and social media. Its ‘like’ for Friday 13 December 2019 was a huge and wonderful surprise for us: the Translation Centre’s Advent calendar in 24 languages was the hit of the day!

The Translation Centre is pleased to announce that on 25 November 2019, it signed an arrangement with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW).

As in previous years, the Translation Centre attended the 6th Translating Europe Forum organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) in Brussels on 7 8 November 2019. Around 500 professionals from the language industry, academia and the public sector attended this event, which was titled ‘translation all around us’.

December is upon us, and our colleagues would like to extend season’s greetings to you in all 24 of the official EU languages with the Translation Centre’s advent calendar for 2019.

On 25-27 September 2019, a colleague from the Centre’s Terminology team attended the International Conference ‘Computational and Corpus-based Phraseology’ (Europhras 2019) in Málaga (Spain) and took note of the latest computerised approaches to phraseology.
