The Centre visits eu-LISA in Tallinn

On 19 April 2017, the Head of the Translation Department, Thierry Fontenelle, visited eu-LISA, the European Agency for the Operational Management of large-scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice.

The Agency, which has its headquarters in Tallinn and an operational site in Strasbourg, strives to support and facilitate European policies in the area of justice, security and freedom. It proactively supports and promotes effective cooperation and information exchange between relevant EU law enforcement bodies by ensuring the uninterrupted operation of large-scale IT systems and thereby contributes to free movement of people within and to the Schengen Area.

Thierry Fontenelle met with around 15 staff members from the Agency’s various departments. He presented the Centre’s new pricing structure, which entered into force on 1 January 2017, as well as the quality assurance system in place, and promoted the new services, such as subtitling.

The eu-LISA representatives, in turn, provided valuable information on the functioning of their agency and on the upcoming translation projects to be sent to the Centre.
