The European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) has created a photo exhibition about the work of the EU Agencies. Frontex, as current coordinator of the EU Agencies’ Network, took this initiative under the 2018 work programme of the Heads of Communication and Information Network (HCIN).


On 4 June 2018, the Translation Centre’s Director, Ms Máire Killoran, met with the Director of Chafea (the Consumers, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency), Ms Véronique Wasbauer, and two of her Heads of Unit in order to explore ways of further strengthening cooperation with our neighbour agency, with whom we share the same building.


On 7-9 May 2018, representatives from the Translation Centre attended the International Annual Meeting on Computer-Assisted Translation and Terminology (JIAMCATT) hosted by the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Translation Centre attended the 21st annual conference of the European Association for Machine Translation (EAMT 2018), which took place in Alicante on 28-30 May 2018. The EAMT conference is a forum that brings together researchers, developers and users of machine translation (MT) technology from the public sector and the industry.

We are pleased to announce the release of the Highlights of the year  2017. This publication presents our main achievements of last year, showcases the diversity of our activities and depicts our role within the family of EU agencies and bodies.

The Centre attended the Annual Meeting of the Universities Contact Group (UCG) of the IAMLADP Working Group on Training, which was held at the European Parliament in Brussels on 18 and 19 April 2018. The meeting was attended by representatives from most EU institutions, as well as by various United Nations organisations. Several universities were also represented.
