From the 10-12 May 2017, representatives from the Centre attended the International Annual Meeting on Computer-Assisted Translation and Terminology (JIAMCATT) hosted at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

The public version of the interinstitutional terminology database IATE was released on 28 June 2007 at an opening ceremony in Brussels, attended by representatives of the IATE partners and language professionals. As Mr Leonard Orban, Commissioner for Multilingualism at the time, said “IATE is a shining example of the synergy that can be created between different bodies, each unique but all with a common purpose: to bring the European message to citizens in the clearest possible form, in a language that they can understand”.

The Institute of the Estonian Language invited the Head of the Translation Department, Thierry Fontenelle, to be one of the keynote speakers at the 16th Annual Conference of Applied Linguistics (EAAL) held in Tallinn on 20-21 April 2017.

On 19 April 2017, the Head of the Translation Department, Thierry Fontenelle, visited eu-LISA, the European Agency for the Operational Management of large-scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice.

On 6 June, our Director, Máire Killoran, and the Head of the Translation Department, Thierry Fontenelle, visited the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) in Malta and gave a presentation to an audience of staff members from various operational units.

On 23 May 2017, the Translation Centre signed an agreement with the European School Luxembourg II (EEL2). With the signing of this agreement, the Centre now has a total of 65 clients.
