The Centre appoints a new Director
The Translation Centre is very pleased to announce the appointment of Ildikó Horváth as its new Director, effective from 1 February 2022. Ms Horváth comes from Hungary and worked at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest before joining CdT.

At Eötvös Loránd University, she was Vice Dean for International Affairs as well as Head of Department and Associate Professor in the Faculty of Humanities. She was also the Director of its Institute of Language Mediation and the President of the European Masters in Conference Interpreting (EMCI) Consortium.

With wide-ranging experience as a translator and conference interpreter as well as a PhD in Translation Studies and Applied Linguistics, Ms Horváth has a solid understanding of the Translation Centre’s core business. In her different roles, she has developed sound management and networking skills, and has overseen the organisation of translation and interpreting studies at both MA and PhD level. She is also the author of numerous articles and books on translation and interpreting, with a recent focus on artificial intelligence and the digital transformation of the language services market.

The Centre congratulates Ms Horváth on her appointment as its fourth Director, warmly welcomes her to Luxembourg and wishes her all the best for her new start.
