Překladatelské středisko pro instituce Evropské unie je agenturou Evropské unie a bylo zřízeno v roce 1994 v Lucemburku. Jeho hlavním posláním je poskytovat překladatelské a související jazykové služby ostatním decentralizovaným agenturám EU. Může rovněž vypomáhat orgánům a institucím EU, které mají své vlastní překladatelské služby, a to v případě jejich vysokého pracovního vytížení nebo v rámci konkrétních projektů. Celkem středisko poskytuje překlady téměř 70 zákazníkům. Na konci roku 2020 mělo celkem 220 zaměstnanců (úředníků, dočasných zaměstnanců a smluvních zaměstnanců). VÍCE INFORMACÍ

67th Management Board meeting of the Translation Centre

The Translation Centre held its 67th Management Board meeting online, marking the first meeting for the Centre’s new Acting Director, Mauro Bubnic, and for Ildikó Horváth, Deputy Director-General for Translation, in her new role as Representative of the European Commission to the Management Board. Members approved the Centre’s Consolidated Annual Activity Report for 2025, and discussed the preliminary draft budget for the coming year.

Launch of the New IATE Release: A New Chapter in EU Terminology Management

The latest major release of IATE (Interactive Terminology for Europe) is now live, marking an important milestone for the EU’s interinstitutional terminology system. Managed by the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union (CdT) on behalf of its EU partners, IATE continues to serve as the central reference tool for reliable, high-quality multilingual terminology.
It supports translators, terminologists, administrators and the wider public in ensuring clarity and consistency across all EU languages.

As we move beyond our 30th anniversary, the Translation Centre is turning a page in its visual and institutional journey. We are proud to present our new logo - a sign of renewal and of confidence in the path ahead.

The Translation Centre at the Multilingualism EU Summer School

The Translation Centre was proud to take part in this year’s Multilingualism EU Summer School 2025, a flagship training programme for promising master’s students in translation, interpreting and law from universities across the EU. Hosted in Luxembourg at the heart of the EU institutions and bodies between 7 and 11 July 2025, the Summer School offers future professionals in language and law a unique window into the world of EU multilingualism.
