Launch of the second European Ombudsman Award for Good Administration
After the great success of the European Ombudsman’s first Award for Good Administration, the Ombudsman launched the second edition of the award on 16 October 2018. The Translation Centre took part in the first edition last year and won in the category ‘Excellence in citizen/customer focused services delivery’, together with the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU OSHA) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), for their collaboration on a project that facilitates the management of multilingual websites.
The award is open to all staff in the agencies (and other EU institutions and bodies), and the submission period runs until 31 January 2019. Individuals, teams or units can be put forward as candidates, or may put themselves forward; specific examples of good administration should be provided.
Submissions should relate to the period from January 2017 to December 2018 and will be judged on the extent to which they reflect the core principles of good public administration. An award ceremony will take place in June 2019 (see the video for a flavour of the ceremony). Many agencies took part in the inaugural edition of the award in 2017, and agencies (including the Centre) were winners in two categories.
