As part of the Centre’s two-year transformation plan set in motion in 2019, our key objectives have been to analyse in depth the communication needs or specific multilingual projects of our clients in order to find the best and most cost-effective solutions for them while increasing the competitiveness of our services.
2020 has been the second year of implementation of the Centre’s biennial Transformation Plan, following the recommendations adopted on the basis of the external ‘Study on the Translation Centre as the Shared Linguistic Service Provider for the EU Agencies and Bodies’ conducted in 2017/2018. As the year comes to an end and we look back on what has been achieved, we can consider that we are almost there! In October, the Management Board’s working group overseeing the implementation of the plan already concluded: ‘[…], the progress achieved was really impressive, especially under the current circumstances. 98% of the Transformation Plan would be implemented by the end of the year […]’
Open data that is accessible to governments, businesses, organisations and individuals plays a crucial role in the EU’s digital transformation. To help understand the data available on the EU Open Data Portal and its potential, the Publications Office of the European Union (OP) is launching a new series of webinars: EU Open Data Explained (ODE).
The first webinar in the series will be held on Monday 9 November 2020 from 11:00 to 12:00 CET and will focus on a domain in which the EU is particularly strong – multilingual resources.
