Centrum Tłumaczeń dla Organów Unii Europejskiej jest agencją Unii Europejskiej. Zostało utworzone w 1994 r. w Luksemburgu i zajmuje się głównie świadczeniem usług tłumaczeniowych i powiązanych usług językowych na rzecz innych agencji zdecentralizowanych UE. Może również pomagać instytucjom i organom UE mającym swoje służby tłumaczeniowe, gdy te są bardzo obciążone pracą lub w przypadku konkretnych projektów. Centrum wykonuje tłumaczenia dla prawie 70 klientów. Na koniec 2020 r. zatrudniało łącznie 220 pracowników, w tym urzędników, personel zatrudniony na czas określony i personel kontraktowy. Our director recently spoke at the LT4All 2025 conference in Paris. She addressed the conference theme, ‘Advancing Humanism through Language Technologies’, by discussing the role of AI in translation, emphasising that human expertise remains vital for quality assurance. This year marks a significant milestone for the European Union as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ‘big bang’ enlargement, which introduced nine new languages into the EU arena. Translation Centre Director, Ildikó Horváth, recently attended the KCI conference on 26 September, where she engaged in a lively panel discussion about the transformative changes required in translation and interpretation to support this multilingual landscape.

The Translation Centre was delighted to welcome four new clients to its community in 2023 and 2024: the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC), the Global Health EDCTP3 Joint Undertaking (JU) and the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU).
