UŽ VIAC AKO 25 ROKOV V SLUŽBÁCH VIACJAZYČNOSTI

Prekladateľské stredisko pre orgány Európskej únie je agentúra Európskej únie a bolo zriadené v Luxemburgu v roku 1994. Jeho hlavným poslaním je poskytovať preklady a súvisiace jazykové služby ostatným decentralizovaným agentúram EÚ. Iným inštitúciám a orgánom EÚ, ktoré majú vlastné prekladateľské útvary, vypomáha v prípade vysokej pracovnej záťaže alebo pri osobitných projektoch. Prekladateľské stredisko poskytuje služby viac ako 70 klientom. Ku koncu roku 2020 tu pracovalo celkovo 220 zamestnancov, a to úradníkov, dočasných zamestnancov a zmluvných zamestnancov. Our director recently spoke at the LT4All 2025 conference in Paris. She addressed the conference theme, ‘Advancing Humanism through Language Technologies’, by discussing the role of AI in translation, emphasising that human expertise remains vital for quality assurance. This year marks a significant milestone for the European Union as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ‘big bang’ enlargement, which introduced nine new languages into the EU arena. Translation Centre Director, Ildikó Horváth, recently attended the KCI conference on 26 September, where she engaged in a lively panel discussion about the transformative changes required in translation and interpretation to support this multilingual landscape.

The Translation Centre was delighted to welcome four new clients to its community in 2023 and 2024: the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC), the Global Health EDCTP3 Joint Undertaking (JU) and the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU).
