Prekladateľské stredisko pre orgány Európskej únie je agentúra Európskej únie so sídlom v Luxemburgu. Bolo zriadené v Luxemburgu v roku 1994 a jeho poslaním je poskytovať preklady a súvisiace jazykové služby ostatným decentralizovaným agentúram EÚ. Iným inštitúciám a orgánom EÚ, ktoré majú vlastné prekladateľské útvary, vypomáha v prípade vysokej pracovnej záťaže alebo pri osobitných projektoch. Prekladateľské stredisko poskytuje služby viac ako 70 klientom. Ku koncu roku 2020 tu pracovalo celkovo 220 zamestnancov, a to úradníkov, dočasných zamestnancov a zmluvných zamestnancov. Europe Day 2022 in Esch-sur-Alzette!

Europe Day 2022

Come and join us for Europe Day 2022, which will be held on Monday 9 May from 12 pm to 6 pm in Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg), one of this year’s European Capitals of Culture. Various EU translation services, among them the Translation Centre, will jointly man a stand in the European Village set up for this occasion.

JIAMCATT 2022 is over … bring on JIAMCATT 2023!

The JIAMCATT 2022 meeting took place this year in Geneva from 20 to 22 April. After two years of the pandemic, it was the first event in hybrid format, with about 80 participants present in Geneva and approximately 170 connected from other places.

Development and sharing of terminology in the energy field

Energy terminology in IATE

The Translation Centre is taking part in the initiative launched the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) to create and share key terminology in the energy field. Almost 600 entries are already available in English and German in IATE, the EU interinstitutional terminology database. Work is ongoing to enrich these entries with equivalents in other EU languages.

The EU motto ‘United in diversity’ has always been a source of inspiration for the Translation Centre, given its multicultural working environment. In 2021, the combination of teleworking and on-site working added an extra layer of diversity but this turned out very well, despite the pandemic. We achieved 641 970 translated pages and capitalised on the Transformation Plan 2019-2020 by launching new services and innovative projects for our 69 clients.
